At Tykes2Teens, we LOVE our Volunteers!
At all of our sales we enlist the help of our loyal consignors and shoppers at the sale site to work with us as volunteers. In return, Tykes2Teens volunteers receive special incentives such as: early pre-sale shopping or the return of the consignor fee. Volunteering is open to anyone!

Sale site set-up (Tuesday of the sale week)
- Assemble and place clothing racks
- Place baskets and bins on tables
- Hang signage on the sales floor
Work consignor drop-off (Wednesday of the sale week)
- Inspect inventory as it arrives
- Place merchandise on the sales floor by size and category
- Test items that require batteries or need to be plugged in
- Organize inventory as the need arises
Help to organize the sales floor (Thursday morning)
- Sort and organize clothing racks
- Reorganize all baskets and bins as necessary
Work during the pre-sale (Thursday evening)
- Greet and check in registered shoppers
- Assist the customers with “HOLDS” at the hold table or on the sales floor
- Help customers carry large or heavy items to their vehicles
- Reorganize the sales floor as needed
Work during the public sale (All day Friday and Saturday morning)
- Greet and direct shoppers
- Assist the customers with “HOLDS” at the hold table or on the sales floor
- Help customers carry large or heavy items to their vehicles
- Reorganize the sales floor as needed
End of Sale Sort and Clean up (Saturday afternoon)
- Sort out all items to be donated to charity
- Help sort unsold items into piles by consignor numbers

*** Please note, in the unlikely event of a “no show” volunteer, Tykes2Teens reserves the right to deduct 5% of the consignor’s total sales or $10, whichever is greater, from a consignor’s check for any shift that is missed without prior notification. In addition, the volunteer will not be permitted to volunteer at future sales.

Volunteer Incentives
Work a 2-hour long shift to earn:

- Pre-sale shopping for the volunteer ONLY beginning at 3:30 pm on Thursday
OR

- Return of the consignor registration fee in the proceeds check, if volunteer is also a consignor
Work a total of 4 hours to earn:

AND

Work a total of 8 hours to earn:

- Pre-sale shopping for the volunteer ONLY beginning at 2:30 pm on Thursday

Work 12 hours or more to earn:

Volunteer F.A.Q.
Q: Do I have to be a consignor to volunteer with Tykes2Teens?
A: Absolutely not! We welcome anyone age 18 or older to volunteer with us.
Q: Is there a registration fee to join as a volunteer?
A: No, volunteer registration is FREE and takes just a few minutes of your time.
Q: I am registered as a volunteer and have decided to also consign, what do I need to do?
A: Please send us an email and we will convert your registration to a seller so that you can pay your registration fee and begin tagging.
Q: Can I bring my child with me when I volunteer?
A: We ask that you do NOT bring young children along with you to volunteer.
Q: What should I wear when I volunteer?
A: We suggest that all volunteers wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
Q: What if I want to help, but don’t see a shift that fits my schedule?
A: No worries! We are happy to review our schedules for additional shift availability and simply ask that you send us a short email with the day and time you wish to help.
Q: If I signed up to help and find that a conflict has come up, what can I do?
A: If the volunteer schedule is still open, please log back in and remove yourself from the shift. If the schedule is closed or you are having difficulty removing yourself, please email us and let us know so we can take care of it for you. If your conflict arises last minute, please send a text message to the phone number provided in your sale week email so that we know you can’t make it.
Q: Why can’t I bring a guest along with me to shop in the pre-sale?
A: Pre-sale shopping is a special incentive we offer to our volunteers who assist us for a minimum of 2-hours. We welcome additional volunteers and recommend that if you have a friend who would also like to shop early that you encourage them to sign up to volunteer too!
Q: Can my husband help out in my place?
A: YES! Some extra muscle goes a long way in helping set up and tear down the sales floor. Feel free to sign him up under his own name or under your name and then send him in your place. An email alerting us to who is coming would be extremely helpful in our planning.
Q: Can I sign up to work with my friend/mother?
A: Yes, we have many moms and mother/daughter teams that work together and then shop together!
