Volunteer Help

Tykes2Teens would like to enlist the help of our loyal consignors and shoppers at the sale site. If you are interested in volunteering, you can earn either early admittance to the pre-sale beginning at 4:00 p.m. or your registration fee back, with as little as 2 hours of your time.

Most shifts will be in 2-hour increments. Certain shifts are 4 hours long and will allow you early admittance in to our pre-sale beginning at 3:00 p.m. as well as earning your registration fee back.

Here is an explanation of the areas where we would like your help:

Sale set up:

We need help tearing down the current site setup, setting up clothing racks and arranging the racks on sales floor. This area entails moving tables and chairs along with some lifting and carrying to help us get ready to begin accepting merchandise from our consignors.

Organize sales floor:

After merchandise is inspected, we need assistance to organize the sales floor and help consignors put away merchandise by size and category.

Help during sale hours:

There are many areas where we require assistance while the sale is open. We will have volunteers on the sales floor to help customers claim and carry large items, to re-sort the sales floor as it seems it is needed, to help at the cash registers to keep the check out process moving along smoothly, and to help in the ‘sold’ area (where we store large items until the customer is ready to leave).

End of Sale Sort and Clean up:

At this time we require help to sort the unsold clothing and other items from the racks and tables into piles so the consignors can pick up any unsold items that are not donated. After all clothing is removed, the racks are unassembled and removed from the sale site. As we move along through the tear-down, the hall will need to be swept up and returned to its original setup.

Tykes2Teens is very excited to have volunteers join us in putting our sale together. Please click on our Registration Page to either register as a new user or log in as an existing user and access the volunteer schedule, if you are interested in helping out during the sale. We do realize that there may be times that you are unable to help after you have signed up. If this happens, please “unregister”’ yourself so we know that we will need help in that time slot.

In order to eliminate the possibility of “no-shows”, Tykes2Teens will deduct an additional 5% (for a split of 65%-35%) or $10, whichever is greater, from a consignor’s check if they do not show up for a shift they were expected to work. In addition, any volunteer who does not show up for their shift will not be eligible to sign up for volunteer shifts in the future. Of course we do understand certain emergencies do happen and we will take that into consideration before making a final decision.
